The specifications of Poco M2 Pro and Redmi Note 9 Pro seems almost same whether intentionally done or whatever it is, we are still going to discuss the detailed specifications on these phones and the key reasons why Poco M2 Pro is better than the Redmi Note 9 Pro.

Processor

The processor on both of these smartphones is same. It is the Qualcomm Snapdragon 720G. The performance of Snapdragon 720G processor is just 12% behind the Snapdragon 765G in the Oneplus Nord. So, considering the price of these two smartphones which are about Rs.10000 less than Oneplus Nord. You can also see how overpriced Oneplus Nord is. The gaming performance also depends on the RAM memory. Some powerful games like PUBG is more fluid when you play using 6GB RAM. Otherwise, 720G is a great chip.

Display

Both smartphones have 6.67-inch Full HD Plus(2400x1800) display. These are LCD displays with a refresh rate of 60Hz. Except the top end phones like Samsung S20 Ultra, Note 20 Ultra and Oneplus 8 Pro have the higher resolution AMOLED displays. All other phones with even higher price have similar resolution but AMOLED displays.

OS

Both has the Android 10 operating system but Redmi Note 9 comes with MiUi interface but Poco M2 Pro has the more intuitive Poco launcher and with a app drawer.

Camera

The cameras on both these phones are same. The Primary camera of 48 megapixel sensor, a 8MP Ultra Wide, 5MP Macro and 2MP Depth sensor. The camera quality is great on both the Primary and Front facing cameras. The front facing cameras on both these phones have a 16 megapixel sensor.

Battery

The battery on Poco M2 Pro is 5000mAh while on Redmi Note 9 Pro is 5020mAh. I know it's not a great difference but you have to know something here. The Redmi Note 9 Pro comes with the 18W fast charger in the box but the Poco M2 Pro box contains the 33W fast charger. Though the capacity of the battery is same, the time it takes to charge the two phones is different. With the 18W fast charger the phone takes a little more than 2 hours to fill upto 100% battery but with the 33W fast charger, it takes only about 1 hour 15 minutes or less.

Price and variants

Though we have compared the 4GB + 64GB model here, there are different variants of these smartphones which are available. The Redmi Note 9 Pro is available in the variants mentioned below.
4GB + 64GB - Rs.13,999
4GB + 128GB - Rs.15,999
6GB + 128GB - Rs.16,999
The colors which the Redmi Note 9 Pro is available is Interstellar Black, Glacier White and Aurora Blue.
The different variants of Poco M2 Pro are
4GB + 64GB - Rs.13,999
6GB + 64GB - Rs.14,999
6GB + 128GB - Rs.16,999
Green and Greener, Out of the Blue, Two shades of Black are the colors in which it is available. The back panel on the Poco M2 Pro is dual tones compared to the single color on Redmi Note 9 Pro.
So, if we see the variants above, both are available in 3 variants but the middle one is different. You are paying Rs.1000 extra for upgrading the RAM but Rs.2000 extra for storage. Both the smartphones have expandable storage.

Reasons why Poco M2 Pro is better than the Redmi Note 9 Pro

  • We know that ads appear on the Redmi MiUI. But since Poco phones are independent from the Xiaomi, they might not contain ads.
  • The Dual color tone on the back panel of Poco M2 Pro. So, if you're someone who want that aesthetics, Poco M2 Pro is better.
  • The camera and software updates on Poco phones are better compared to that on Redmi phones.
  • And as we have already discussed above, the Poco M2 Pro comes with a 33W fast charger compared to 18W charger on Note 9 Pro. It can save your time sometimes. Given the same price, I would definitely pick Poco M2 Pro.
