Restore 0 byte files in windows 10/8/7 or Recover all your lost Data


Some users have faced the issue of 0 byte files in their system. This problem is caused when a hard drive runs the risk of corruption. This can cause delete your important data and files. The main reasons for 0byte files error are:

1.       Click Window + R to Run and type CMD to open the command prompt and hit Enter.
2.       When the command prompt is open, type chkdsk/f d: (Note:  [d:] is the name of the storage device or partition of the hard drive that holds the 0 byte file) and press enter.
3.       After solving all the issues you can use your files again.

Ø  Change file extensions for recovering 0 byte files
You can also change the extensions of files to recovering your lost data. Following are the steps to recover 0 byte files:
1.       Right-click on the drive and choose the Properties option.
2.       Click the Check now button in the Tools menu and Press the Start button.
3.       After scanning click the close button and then press cancel.
4.       Open the storage device or Hard Drive or type FOUND.000 in the address and press Enter.
5.     Change the name and extension of the repaired file keeping the format of the file the same as that of the 0 byte file. (Note: Save the file in a separate hard drive partition).
6.     Your 0 byte file is fixed now.
